June 3rd in Guatemala - Day at the Lake

Interesting plant near where we are staying in the city of Panajachel.

Taking the boat across Lake Atitla'n to eat brunch at Casa del Mundo.

Casa del Mundo is a unique hotel/cafe' built on the side of the mountain.

There are lots of steps and beautiful flowers on the way up.


There are two volcanos across the lake.

Look how some of the orange petals have not opened up yet.

This hotel/cafe is so beautiful. Pictures still can not describe how beautiful this place is. Plants and flowers hung down from the ceiling in the cafe. Brunch was delicious. The stone steps up are surrounded by so many flowers of all types. There are lots of hamocks and quaint sitting areas on the trail. The hotel has 16 rooms each overlooking the lake. It looks like a honeymoon place to me. The water is crystal clear. It was paradise! And to think you can there for about $60.00 a night.
